Matthew is a nurse practitioner with over 15 years of experience in mental health and addiction treatment services. Matthew completed his undergraduate nursing degree in 2006 and has post-graduate diplomas in mental health nursing, addiction & mental health and human rights. He completed a Master of Nurse Practitioner (Mental Health) in 2019 and gained endorsement as a nurse practitioner the same year. Matthew is credentialed with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses and sits on the college university accreditation committee. He is also a member of the Australian College of Nurse Practitioners. Matt completed his training in clinical supervision in 2014 and has been providing supervision to both individuals and groups. He has training and experience in cognitive behavioural therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical behavioural therapy and solution-focused brief therapy.
Matthew specialises in co-occurring mental health and substance use, and emergency mental health. He has worked in a range of environments including emergency departments, inpatient and community mental health. Matthew has held senior positions in both the public and private system including executive management and senior clinical roles. Matthew’s passions are providing person-centred and recovery-oriented care for people with complex needs and facilitating the professional development of mental health professionals.
