Dr Maryam Aghdaee is a consultant psychiatrist with expertise in the in diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders in the adult population (General Adult Psychiatry). Dr Aghdaee has a special interest in the areas of mood and anxiety disorders, schizophrenia and psychosis. Dr Aghdaee has obtained extensive clinical experience as a result of professional appointments held at well-recognised and reputable mental health services in Sydney, Blacktown Hospital, Westmead Hospital, Manly Hospital, and the Northside clinic.
Dr Maryam Aghdaee is particularly committed to the completion of comprehensive assessment and close professional collaboration with other health care professionals, including GPs and psychologists. Dr Aghdaee also works as a psychiatrist (staff specialist) at Canterbury Community Mental Health Services. Dr Aghdaee is highly skilled in the psychiatric assessment and treatment of individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse heritage. Dr Aghdaee is also fluent in Farsi and has an extensive knowledge of the cultural tenets of Middle-Eastern and Western-Asian countries.
